CODE OF CONDUCT
As an instructional, recreational baseball organization, Madeira Beach Youth Baseball and Softball is dedicated to promoting the sport in a safe, fun, supportive and positive environment. The following Code of Conduct is provided to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the players, their families, coaches and fans. Please read and sign this Code of Conduct so that we may continue to promote this sport in a way that is most beneficial to the kids.
PARENTS, GUARDIANS, FANS, PLAYERS, COACHES, ALL SPECTATORS will observe the following rules at all games and practices:
> These players are young athletes who need encouragement, not criticism. Use positive forms of criticism for purposes of instruction only.
> Be respectful of volunteer personnel (coaches, umpires etc.)
(Remember they are there to promote this sport for the kids!)
> Be respectful of all players and other parents.
> Cheer for good plays and acknowledge good efforts
> UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will negative cheering / talk of an opposing player or team be allowed.
The players(s) / coach / fan will be given one warning, if not ceased the player(s)/coach/fan will be asked to leave the fields and will face disciplinary action from the Board of Directors
> ONLY coaches, players and umpires or board members are allowed on the field at any time.
> Refrain from the giving the children instructions during the game – allow the coaches to manage the team and the game
> UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will negative talk /yelling / heckling towards an umpire be allowed before, during, or after a game. Any coach, player or spectator will be given one warning, if not ceased they will be asked to leave the fields and will face disciplinary action from the Executive Board.
> Absolutely no profane or abusive language at any time during games or practices
> Clean up after yourself, pick up your garbage, clean out the dugouts after every game or practice.
Any violation of these rules at any game or practice or league function is subject to disciplinary action by the Madeira Beach Youth Baseball and Softball Board of Directors. This can be any action from a verbal or written warning up to and including suspension or permanent expulsion from Madeira Beach Youth Baseball and Softball and its activities.
By registering to play, coach or volunteer, you are acknowledging and agree that you as a player, parent (and any extended family/friends/spectators), or coach will abide by this Code of Conduct and will acknowledge any actions/decisions set forth by the Madeira Beach Youth Baseball and Softball Board of Directors.
